**Update 4/27/23: DUE TO RAIN THE CREEK CLEAN UP & PICNIC IS CANCELLED. The current forecast is likely to create unsafe conditions along the creek and trail. We are asking that volunteers NOT visit your sections on Saturday morning.**

The first Wissahickon Creek Clean Up was held in 1970 to coincide with the first Earth Day. Celebrate the 53rd anniversary of both events and volunteer to help clean the Wissahickon Creek, its tributaries and local trails on Saturday, April 29. This is the perfect outdoor event to show your support and love for a clean Wissahickon watershed. We are continuing our partnership for this event with our downstream partners at Friends of the Wissahickon to ensure a clean Wissahickon in both Montgomery and Philadelphia counties.

Registration

All volunteers choose a pre-assigned section of the Creek, its tributaries or the trail. View the list of sections in the spreadsheet which includes links to google maps and downloadable maps and shows parking and trash drop locations.

Most participants begin cleaning around 9:00 am, but that time is flexible. Report directly to your assigned section and leave your trash in the designated areas no later than 1:00pm (remember the picnic is held from 11am-1pm).

Be prepared for to get wet and/or muddy. Volunteers are asked to clean both the surrounding trails and in the creek. Old shoes, rain boots, or waders are suggested.
